Structural repairs to our basement
During the course of planning this project, severe structural deterioration was found in several concrete beams that make up the Old Central Fire Station's foundation. About $100,000 in repairs will be made in the building's basement crawl-space to shore up these beams.

September 2001, Chuck Orzeck with CTI (Concrete Toppings of Illinois), examines
one of the worst areas -- a section of a main concrete support beam where
a floor drain penetrated through from the apparatus room above.
