25 • Mundelein Firefighters Association's Annual Swap Meet. This is the largest swap meet in the Midwest dedicated to fire equipment and will feature vendors and buyers from all over the country buying and selling books, magazines, collectibles, t-shirts, sweatshirts, toys, tools, equipment and much, much, more. Held at the Mundelein High School, 1350 W. Hawley St. Mundelein, IL. Doors open at 8am.... The ARFM will be CLOSED so that staff might attend, market, and network at this national gathering of firefighters and fire memorbelia collectors.
30 • Horse Tails & Tales: the Romance of Fire Horses
Fire horses lasted only half a century but their introduction heralded the most stirring and romantic time in fire fighting history. Join David Lewis, Curator of the Aurora Regional Fire Museum, as he presents a lively forty-five minute discussion/multi-media presentation examining the realities and romance of the era of the fire horse. Doors to the Aurora Regional Fire Museum will open at 6:30pm and the program begins promptly at 7:00pm. The event is FREE but preregistration is requested.

19 • 120th Birthday of the Old Central Fire Station
Happy birthday to us! Join us for the 120th anniversary of Aurora's Old Central Station with traditional Aurora firehouse food -- stuffed cabbages, pizza, ice cream, and birthday cake! . . . (more details to be posted soon).
24 • Celebrate Family Reading Night at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum with the Aurora Public Library. Join children's librarians from the Aurora Public Library for stories and activities at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum For families with children ages 5 and up. The event is free, but RSVPs are requested.
21 • The Aurora Regional Fire Museum's 1921 Stutz Fire Engine will be carrying Santa to Aurora's Holiday Magic Tree Lighting Ceremony.
22 • Gingerbread FIREhouse Building Workshop in partnership with PME School of Cake Decorating.
27 - 28 • The Aurora Regional Fire Museum will be CLOSED so that staff might enjoy the holidays with their famlies.
29 • The Aurora Regional Fire Museum host their 6th Annual Gingerbread FIREhouse Contest opening and holday exhibit -- complete with a visit from Santa the Fire Chief, storytelling, a holiday mouse hunt, and more. FREE admission for the day.
December - 2013
5 • Come see the Aurora Regional Fire Museum and the Gingerbread FIREhouses. The museum will be open late (from 6 to 9pm) as we join several venues exhibiting art, musuc, and culture during the December edition of "First Friday's" in Downtown Aurora.
18 • The winners of the Gingerbread FIREhouse raffle announced.
22 to January 8, 2015 • The Aurora Regional Fire Museum is closed for the holidays.
